Aptus Court Reporting announced its expansion today into the growing Bay Area court reporting market, led by respected industry veterans Kaitlyn Shelly and Claudia Deza.

Shelly serves the Director of Business Development for Aptus Court Reporting’s Bay Area office while Deza is the company’s Bay Area Business Manager. Both have a strong track record of surpassing sales goals and forging new business relationships. Their expert knowledge in the deposition support industry has allowed them to manage and secure TOP AMLAW Firms’ large complex litigation matters.
Shelly has helped Aptus Court Reporting grow into a successful reporting firm since the company’s launch in March 2011. Her responsibilities include identifying and pursuing new business while also maintaining and building client and firm relationships.
Deza has more than 10 years experience in the legal support industry. She

most recently served as Calendar Manager for a large national court-reporting firm, where she worked with a wide array of clients ranging from law firms to corporations. With her experience, she has also built strong relationships with the very best reporters in our industry.
“Both Kaitlyn and Claudia have built strong reputations in our industry by providing exceptionally tailored service to our clients and reporting staff,” said Derek Berg, Aptus Managing Partner and co-founder. “We’re excited to expand our services in the Bay Area and demonstrate how we manage complex litigation needs while providing top reporters nationwide.”
Aptus’ success in its Southern California locations has led to its expansion into the Bay Area marketplace.
“Entering the Bay Area market is a big step for Aptus,” said Berg. “We are excited to bring our expertise in court reporting and related services to this dynamic market. Aptus is committed to earning the trust of Bay Area clients and we know the only way to do this is to provide exceptional value, knowledge and service.”

Team San Diego!

Team Silicon Valley!

Team San Francisco!
By Andrew Bayer – Regional Director of Business Development, TERIS
It was a crowded evening at downtown San Diego’s The Local Restaurant and Bar as TERIS Litigation Support and sister company, Aptus Court Reporting hosted what has now become a semi-annual client appreciation happy hour last Thursday night. With plenty of great food, amazing mixed drinks, craft beers on tap and the lively tunes blaring from one of Los Angeles’ best up-and-coming DJs, fun was certainly had by all.
Truly getting the crowd moving with his “tropical-disco” infused beats was DJ Surf Ambassador Hendo who has been the resident DJ at the weekly pool parties hosted by The Standard Hotel in downtown Los Angeles for the last two years. Having a close connection to TERIS through his brother, Andrew Bayer (local Regional Director of Business Development), Henry was quite pleased with how well the event went and remarked that he cannot wait for the next opportunity to play more of these TERIS/Aptus events. Based on the crowd’s reaction, we will certainly be seeing the likes of DJ Surf Ambassador Hendo again soon!
In a continuing trend of showing their gratitude to the San Diego community that remains steadfast supporters of their businesses, TERIS and Aptus certainly pulled out all of the stops on Thursday evening. As a result, the crowd swarmed well into the 250+ person range consisting of current, potential and even eventual customers for both TERIS and Aptus. It was truly a great mix of corporate counsel, loyal clients from the law firm space and of course, representation from many of the local legal organizations that TERIS and Aptus are sustaining sponsors of including but not limited to: SDLSA, SDPA, ALA, Lawyers Club, Consumer Attorneys of San Diego, ABTL, ACC and many, many more.
For those who attended and those who wished they could have been there but just couldn’t make it, fear not as TERIS’ new Instagram account was there to document all of the fun times. Please feel free to check out some of the night’s photographs as well as following the TERIS account to continue to see what your favorite Account Representatives might be up to or receive updates on the various other events that TERIS and Aptus will be attending. Don’t worry, Aptus will also have an account up soon!

July 14, 2012 - On a gloomy San Diego Saturday morning, TERIS Litigation Support and their sister court reporting company, Aptus, were excited to have eighteen representatives from their companies participate with the Westview High School Surf Team in their annual Del Mar Beach Clean Up Day. Aside from a few clouds in the sky, the event was a complete and utter success.
With over 100 people in attendance to support this great cause, the impact was substantial and the charitable endeavors of the attendees became contagious. Throughout the morning, the participants scoured the beach seeking out each and every piece of rubbish and garbage that could be discarded. Over the course of about two hours, more than fifteen garbage bags were filled with litter of all shapes and sizes. The participants were continuously applauded by local beach-goers for their efforts – and a few of them even decided to jump in and lend a hand themselves!
TERIS and Aptus are quite grateful to Patricia Hoekman of Life Technologies for informing us of this great event which she was helping organize on behalf of her son, who is a member of the Westview High School Surf Team. Having been a loyal supporter of both companies for some time now, Patricia reached out to the management of both organizations in hopes of a simple sponsorship contribution that would, in theory, garner more interest for this event. Little did she know that in addition to a few gift certificates the companies would donate for the participant raffle, eighteen people from both TERIS and Aptus would be attending to lend a hand.
Being locally owned and operated, TERIS and Aptus take great pride in giving back to the San Diego community that continues to show them so much support. It is events like this weekend’s Beach Clean Up that truly demonstrates the spirit and philanthropic nature of the people and ownership that have made these two companies so successful. In addition to supporting great charitable causes, TERIS and Aptus are also ensconced through sponsorship contributions to almost every legal-related organization in San Diego, including: Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC), San Diego County Bar Association (SDCBA), San Diego Lawyers Club, Association of Legal Administrators (ALA), San Diego Paralegal Association (SDPA), San Diego Legal Secretaries Association (SDLSA), Association of Business Trial Lawyers (ABTL), and many, many more.
Keep an eye out for TERIS and Aptus throughout San Diego as chances are if it’s a charitable cause, legal-oriented event, or both, you will be seeing several smiling faces of representatives from these two local organizations.
